Baseball fans can win amazing “Mike Trout experience” while supporting great charities

Former major-leaguer Chris Singleton hosting online raffle, with winner receiving Angels tickets, on-field meet and greet with Trout, autographed Trout items and more; Proceeds benefit charities geared toward helping at-risk kids, stopping human trafficking and providing clean water to those in need

 

(May 16, 2013) – Baseball fans can take their chances on winning a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity while supporting worthy charities thanks to an online raffle for a “Mike Trout experience” being offered by former major-leaguer Chris Singleton through the Chris Singleton Foundation.

The winner will enjoy a package that includes an exclusive personal meeting with Trout, the star 21-year-old left fielder for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim who last season earned American League Rookie of the Year and Silver Slugger honors while also representing his team in the All-Star Game.

Raffle tickets are just $10, three for $25 and five for $35. The grand prize includes:

- Two field-level tickets to any home Angels game*

- And on-field meet and greet for two with star Angels outfielder Mike Trout

- A Mike Trout autographed jersey, hat and baseball

- $1,000 in travel expenses

*Angels tickets are for any mid-week game between July 2 and September 25. Tickets must be selected 21 days in advance of game date.

Fans can enter at www.togetherwedogood.com/miketrout through June 24.

The Mike Trout Experience raffle is part of a larger effort of the Chris Singleton Foundation titled “Together We Do Good.” The effort aims to harness the powerful public platform afforded professional athletes and celebrities, bringing them together to support worthy causes.

Funds raised through the raffle will benefit the Chris Singleton Foundation (www.ChrisSingletonFoundation.org), which supports organizations that benefit at-risk kids from inner cities across the United States, that combat human trafficking and that provide clean water to people in need around the world. A portion of the proceeds will also go to support the athletic department at Trout’s high school, Millville (N.J.) High on behalf of Trout.

The benefitting organizations include Charity Water (www.CharityWater.org), Exodus Road (www.TheExodusRoad.com), Essential 2 Life (www.e2lonline.com) and Not For Sale (www.notforsalecampaign.org).

“I’m excited to be able to offer fans the chance to win such a tremendous experience,” said Singleton, an outfielder who played six years in the big leagues for the White Sox, Orioles, A’s and Devil Rays and now works as an MLB analyst for ESPN. “Mike Trout is without a doubt one of the most dynamic players in baseball, and the opportunity to meet him on the field before a game is truly an experience that will create a life-long memory. I can’t thank Mike enough for his willingness to be a part of this and to support the charitable organizations that are so important to me.”

Added Trout: “When Chris approached me with this idea, I was happy to help out. He does some great work supporting a number of worthy charitable organizations, and I’m glad to be able to play a small part in that.”

The Mike Trout experience raffle is supported by Celebrity Charitable Network, the non-profit foundation run by Pro Football Hall of Famer Chris Doleman, who played 15 years in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons
