CHRIS DOLEMAN TO BE INDUCTED INTO THE RING OF HONOR AT HALFTIME OF THE VIKINGS' HOME GAME ON OCTOBER 23

On Sunday, October 23, 2011, Minnesota Vikings will induct Chris Doleman into the Ring of Honor during halftime of the Vikings-Packers game at the Mall of America Field.

The honor is the highest the Minnesota Vikings can bestow upon an individual and Chris Doleman will be the 19th member of the Vikings Ring of Honor.

One of the most feared defensive players of his era, Doleman ended his 15-year NFL career with 150.5 sacks, the 4th most in NFL history, and 8 interceptions. He ranks 7th in NFL history with 24 career defensive fumble recoveries. He holds the Vikings' all-time record for sacks in a single season with 21 in 1989, which is the third-highest total in NFL history, and currently ranks fourth in league history with 150.5 career sacks. 96.5 of those 150.5 sacks came as a member of the Minnesota Vikings, which gives him the second most in franchise history behind John Randle. He played on Vikings defenses that ranked #1 in the NFL in 1988, ’89 and ’93.
